Taipei 2013 - Day Two (实在好湾)

 photo DSC_0143_zps12129a16.jpg

Rise and shine! Ootd for Day 2. :)
Decided to had the famous Ay Chung Mee Sua(阿宗面线) for breakfast!
Reached the place in no time with the help of GPS.

Located at : 台北市峨嵋街8之1号 (XiMenDing outlet)
Tel : 2388-8808
Website : www.ay-chung.com

Limited seats available, we stood every time we were there.

Here's a bowl of God-Like food. (NT$45)
They were very generous at the servings.
You get a lot of pig intestine with every scoop.

The bowl's very hot to hold onto.
So I tried to finish it as fast as possible. Lol.

After the awesome breakfast we move on to Taipei City Hall station. (市政府)

There is nothing much there honestly.
Just branded shops for rich people.
Our purpose of visiting is to see Taipei 101 tower.

Xinyi at Xinyi district. Xinyi-ception.
Just walk down from Xinyi district and you can see Taipei 101.

 And look what we've found!

50岚! Singapore's most famous bubble tea shop.
Also known as KOI in Singapore.
Love their pearls! So chewy and good.

Order green milk tea (奶緑). (NT$45)
In Taiwan you get to choose the sugar level, ice level and amount of pearls.
Why their service so good one. :')

After a 5 mins walk we saw it!

 Taipei 101!!

We took a walk inside and decided not to spent NT$400(NT$350 with youth card) just to go up to level 101. A bit scary and waste money.

We still want to have something to remember with, so we make a souvenir.
There is a machine next to the ticketing office.
You have to purchase a copper coin for NT$80 and insert the coin in.

You get to choose a design to be molded on the coin.

And tada! The coin is a bit hot, so be careful.

And I lost it at the end of the day. :(
Must have misplaced it somewhere in the inn.

The we took MRT to HouShanPi station(候山埤) to WuFenPu wholesale market!

 Exit : 4
Opening hours : 17:00-22:00

Do take note that Monday is their "peak period" and nobody will serve you.
It's better to go any days except for Monday. And most of the shops operate only after 5pm.

We were still early when we reached HouShanPi station, so we went to have lunch at Sushi Express! Loves this to bits.
Singapore has an outlet too, selling every plate @$1.50 each. (Located at CityLink)

They served almost the same thing but everything is fresh and nice! Free flow of tea as usual.

The chawanmushi mega oiishi. With 2 scallops and mushrooms inside.

Fancy 3 slices of salmon for the price of NT$30?

We were kinda "forced" to tr the raw prawn because P held the plate to look at it out of curiosity.
Tsk, itchy hand.
It's fresh, but somehow have a weird after taste. Ewww.

Yes, everything you can see on the plate is going at NT$30.
They take orders only when they are not busy.
So you might want to go during non-peak hours. (3pm-4pm)

 13 plates in total~
After that we turned left when we exited sushi express and kinda follow the crowds to WuFenPu. You can see a lot of hardcore shoppers with their bf holding trolley.

Some parts of the place is sheltered so when it's raining, you still can shop till you drop.
A typical shop will sell a piece of clothes at NT$200 each.
And if you buy 8 pieces or above from the same shop, one piece will be at NT$150.

I bought most of the shirts and dress at NT$200, because I couldn't find more than 3 pieces at every shops.
Unlike our Bugis Street, the shops there sells rather unique clothing.
You wouldn't find repeated design in every shops.
So when you see one that caught your eyes, just buy it! (It's kinda hard to find the shop again)

I almost die of happiness there.
Poor P's arm is aching from all the shopping bags. Haha.
And after the hardcore shopping, it's dinner time.

It's like a routine for everyone to visit RaoHe night market after WuFenPu because they are near to one another.

It's a pretty long walk, takes around 15mins.
You'll get to see a railway station along the way.

Unlike Shilin, Raohe night market is open air.
So if it's a raining day, you can consider to head back home.

The first stall that caught our eyes is this stir-fried cutter fish stall with extremely huge cutter fish.

It's cutter fish fried with some vegetables and ginger.
The sauce given were chili and wasabi. O.O
Taste like Singapore version of Satay Beehoon without the beehoon of cos.
Love it! But like I said, expensive compared to other foods. (NT$100)

The next one we tried are the pepper bun, which is one of the highly recommended food.

You get to see the making process while q-ing for it.

The skin was baked to be crispy on the outside and soft in the inside.
As you take your first bite, piping hot soup will explode into your mouth.
I hurt my tongue. -.-

But the pepper bun itself is nice.
You won't like it if you hate spring onions. It's filled with it.

The next thing we ate is egglet. (鸡蛋仔)
This is actually one of the famous food in HongKong.
SUPER NICE. Crispy and chewy!!! *Eat while hot*

 Fried fresh milk. (NT$20)
Read about this special food on blogs.
But I don't like it. It will melt in your mouth and your mouth is filled with hot fresh milk.
P doesn't even wants to try it. Lol.

Fresh oyster! 6 for NT$100.
MAD FRESH AND JUICY.
Comes with different sauces to eat together with.
I eat them without any sauce. Love it that way.

And here comes the WORSE FOOD EVER.
I had never eaten such disgusting corn in my entire life.
One corn cost NT$80, freaking expensive.
And the person will keep roasting the corn until it's burned and overcooked.
It's hard and taste like charcoal.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Too much food photos, so here's a half shaved puppy.
P's going mad with all the cute puppies and said he wanted to smuggle one back.

Surprising I didn't tried the prawns for the whole trip. (My favorite)
Kinda lazy to remove the shells I guess.

And we tried this famous 100 years old Mee Sua shop.
Unlike Ay Chung, the ingredients includes oysters too.
But it's not the sticky type, it's more like noodles in soup.
Taste typical and not worth trying.

And finally, the most famous store in RaoHe night market!
3 brothers pork ribs soup.
The lu rou fan taste like shit and the pork rib soup is like herbal soup.
I love the pork rib soup! Very generous with the ribs.

The last stop of all night market is always the XXL chicken.
P always dabao one back to munch on.

We went back to the inn to drop all the loots and headed out again.
XiMenDing never sleeps. At night you get to see a lot of illegal stores.
And on Sunday night you can even see fleas market.

Tried Chatime green milk tea, not bad too.

We were very full.
So the only thing we bought is this popiah.
And it's not even nice lol.

And we finally went back to rest after this.

Loots for day 2!
All clothes, no shoes and bags YET.
