Hong Kong 2014 - Day One

Decided to visit Hong Kong with P for our 5th anniversary!
Flying with Jetstar again.

P's uncle in Hong Kong came to pick us up at the airport.
Really thankful for all his help during the trip.

We were both feeling extremely hungry thus P's uncle brought us for tea-break. (Yum-Cha)
The restaurant was located at the older residential area of Hong Kong.

P's uncle ordered a lot of dishes and it came up to about only SGD$16+ per person.
Dim Sum there is really affordable and good in Hong Kong.
Noticed I didn't say cheap, but affordable.

Love the pork belly soup! Very generous with the pork belly.
But the pig trotters is below average. Too much ginger.
Hate them hairy black piece of shit trying to act like they are the pig trotters.

Food is good but I would not recommend this place as it is out of the way.
Unless you are driving or stay around that area.
Because dim sum in Hong Kong is too common and not worth the time to travel specially to.

After the sinful afternoon tea, P's uncle drove us to our motel.
We stayed at Homy inn, cost us about SGD$120+ per night.
The staffs were very nice and helpful, the only thing is that the room is too god damn small.

Yes that's the whole room. With just a bed and not much space to move around.
Most of the time when P is walking around, I need to stay on the bed.
The bed is more like super single and not queen size.

7D6N in this cramped space make us miss our bed badly.

And yes, you have to sit on the toilet bowl to bath. Lol.

Telecom service sucks.
Unlike Taiwan, where you just buy a simcard and you can start using, the one in Hong Kong requires you to go through a lot of steps and we ended up visiting the shop for help.

Thankfully P's uncle help us with communicating with the shop assistant.

After which, we went to CTS, a travel agency to purchase tickets for Disneyland & Ocean Park.
Pro : It's cheaper! & You don't have to queue for the ticket on that day!
Con : Can't think of any.

And off we go to explode the area!

P & I actually went to Hong Kong on the same year (same date) many years ago.
But I believe that our fate has not crossed therefore we didn't notice each other.
We even went to Disneyland on the same day!

The place is still the same as how I've remembered it to be.
Our first stop is Avenue of Stars.

?! Is that a queue I see at the ice cream truck?
So typically, we queued for one too.

So so only the ice cream. Tasted like Mac's 50 cent ice cream but more expensive.
Cheat our feelings. -.-

It was a very enjoyable walk at the Avenue of stars as the cold wind blows on your face.
(Then my skin gets too dry and peels off at night, not shiok already.)

This store sells Korean grilled squid!
We bought one and nearly walked all the way back to get another!
Super nice.

A bit hazy~

We hanged around Metro and waited for P's uncle to come and pick us up.

When P's uncle came, we went to Avenue of Star again to take some pictures.

P and his super nice uncle. ((:

P's uncle then taught us how to take a bus to his house.

The street of Hongkong is quite dark and ulu.

The house in Hongkong is small, but it comes with a outdoor roof area.
They modified the place into a kitchen~

Home cooked meal is the best. ♥
Thank you P's aunt.
I kept bowing and nodding because I cannot speak Canto.

After dinner, his uncle very kindly brought us to Temple Street.

We went to try 許留山Hui Lau Shan.

P order mango sago~ Which is the best I've ever had.

I act smart and ordered bird nest with coconut milk.
And it tasted ok. So I stole P's mango sago in the end.

Our first stick of curry fishball!
Taste different from what we had in Singapore.

Temple street is in between Jordan and Yau Ma Tei.
Which is near to our Inn at Tsim Sha Tsui.

So we walked back.

Loots from Temple street~

We bought these tickets from CSC at a cheaper price.
1) Disneyland
  2) The Peak
3) Madame tussauds Hong Kong
