Hong Kong 2014 - Day Five

Destination of the day, Ocean Park!
P and I has never step foot there.

Even though we don't really like theme park, we've decided to visit Ocean Park.

How to get there : Take MTR to Admiralty (金鍾) station.
Go to the bus interchange at Admiralty station and take a Citybus 629.

The Citybus Route 629 runs daily from Admiralty MTR Station or Central (Star Ferry). The bus fares are $10.6 for adults and $5.3 for children (aged 4-11).

We bought our tickets CTS at a cheaper price.
And even better, we get to skip the queue!

Mandatory tourist shot with the logo.

The place isn't as magical as Disneyland.

The mascot is quite ugly. :x

There is this cool game at the entrance whereby you can control a mini boat.
But you have to pay to per play. We didn't manged to play it as we don't have enough coins.

The food looks cute but we didn't eat anything there.

The blue building behind is the grand aquarium.
Also out first stop.
We had to queue about 30 mins to go in as there was this huge crowd of students in front of us.

Meh. So much so for coming during weekday.

The touch pool~

The whole place is pretty small and can be covered within half an hour.

They sells cool LED souvenir inside the aquarium which I am tempted to get.
But I decided to get a plush toy instead.

Mr.Tako

After that, we proceed to see pandas!! :D

Awwwwwww.

How can you not love panda. ♥
This attraction was even smaller.

Took us about 10 mins to cover it.
After all there is only 2 pandas.

And 2 monkeys.
Who were seen hugging each other. Awwwwww.

And press coin! My favorite souvenir of all time.
They were both cool and cheap.
P and I had collected more than 20 of them around the world. (:

And we spotted the Korean Grill Squid!
The one we had at the Avenue of Star!

It actually cost $6 per slice but oh well.
Can't walk away without buying one.

We went up the hill towards another attraction and we saw a baby crocodile and 2 sleeping otters.

And we reached another place with panda.
Why did they place the panda at different place? o.0

This place is called the Giant Panda adventure.
很惊险meh?

And next to it is an attraction called Goldfish treasures.
Is the goldfish a treasure itself, or is the goldfish actually keeping the treasures?

Erm actually quite ugly.

After a while we got bored and left.
There is this Amazing bird theater beside it.

And yup, another big name together with a big disappointment.

Ahh...*tumble-weed*

Another cafe inside the Ocean Park.

We took a U-turn and went down towards the direction of Old Hong Kong.

The place is actually a game zone with a lot mini game for you to waste money.

There were some overpriced food stall too.

We quickly combed through the place and left to take the Ocean Express up to the summit.

This ride is pretty cool. ((:
The roof is actually screening some giant octopus trying destroy the submarine.
Would be a lot better if I had a seat.

The summit!!! The view is awesome!

Fuck you PRC and your backpack for photo bombing.

There are 2 parts here, if you go up the escalator you will reach the theme park zone.
And if you proceed to the path on the right, you will reach the rain-forest.

Thanks to this 2 parrots, the whole place totally feel like a rain forest now. ((;
Just kidding.

We gave up walking around there and we went up to check the theme park out.

The place feels like UK funfair my mum used to bring me to when I was younger.

We didn't saw anything that appeal us.
So we went to the Polar Adventure!
Yet another adventure awaits us! (:

The whole place smells like fish.
How fun!

Nevertheless the penguins are cute.
And then I saw something cuter!

Snow fox! Awwwww. :*

Andddd the seal.

Sorry, didn't really bother to stay and take a nicer picture of it.
Just wanted to escape the fishy smell.

Wanted to get this box of cookie!
But in the end P bought me a penguin plush toy.((:

And finally it's lunch time!

We choose to eat here because it is the nearest to the dolphin show area which is happening in an hour time.

And honestly? This shit sucks.
We didn't finish even half of it.

WORSE, when we walked over, the dolphin show is fully seated.
And that being the last show of the day, means we got 0 reason to stay there.

We decided to go off.
And before that, we took this ride because there is no queue.

And I'm glad we did. (:
After that we left the place early to avoid the crowd.

We took the bus back to the bus interchange and took the MTR to Mongkok to have dinner.

Ordered a cup of mango smoothie from 許留山Hui Lau Shan
(SGD$5.70)
It was awesome with generous bits of mango! Recommended!

Yes~ we are back again!
But this time P and I decided to order the dinner set for 2.

Escargot in chili sauce.
Easy to eat, toothpicks are provided.
Not too spicy. The meat is a bit tough but nice to chew on.

Razor shells and abalones with garlic and vermicelli.

Shark fin soup with 3-4 pieces of shark fin inside.

Prawn claypot rice.
The whole set for 2 cost HK268 (SGD$55.80) and we top up a bit more for the prawn claypot rice.
We spent about SGD$60 for this awesome seafood meal!

Totally worth it!

P bought this magnetic wristband at ladies street for SGD$5 each.
They were considered cheap according to him as compared to the one sold in Singapore.

My Hello Kitty Food~

Left to right :

Penguin from Ocean park (Cost about SGD$20)
Winnie the pooh from Ladies Street (SGD$6)
LINE brown bear! Best buy from a push cart. (SGD$12.50)

Random push cart price is cheaper as compared to Ladies street.
Because they are illegal. LOL.
One for HK100, Two for HK120.
So we decided to ask auntie to sell us one for HK60. *Thick skin*

And to our surprise, she didn't even bargain back and agreed.
One brown bear cost about $39.90 in Singapore.
Regretted not buying Cony. :p

And i finally tried roasted pigeon, bought it from a random shop on the way back to our Inn.
P damn scare die don't want to try.

It actually tasted like chicken but the meat is tougher.
I don't like it so I ate a bit only.

But now I know how a pigeon tasted like.
Achievement unlocked.
