Honeymoon Day 13 - Last day of trip

With a heavy heart, we are finally heading home.
2 long weeks at Taiwan is rrally awesome.

Thank you everyone for being so sweet, kind and nice to us!

We went to had our last both of thick squid soup.

And some dice beef.

And we took FREE Go Bus back to the airport.

The taoyuan airport terminal 1 has limited food.
Be sure to have your lunch outside before you depart.

After 4 hr 45mins we finally touched down in Singapore.
We paid SGD168 for an extra 5kg baggage.

Chaocheebye jetstar scam money only.

And we bought duty free wine~

The sales person keep encouraging us to get more.
We ended spending another $100+ on wine.

And we spent the remaining NT on mickey mouse miniatures.
Cost around SGD40+ for 10 boxes.

Singapore is selling $9.90 for just 1 box.

Our pressed coins!(:

Bought with remaining NT.
Adventure time ear ring.

Eco-prawns.

And miniatures I got from the museum.

Great trip.
Already planning for our next trip to Taiwan again. :)!

Good9stay

Decided to look for another minsu at Xi Men Ding as the previous one had a super lousy service.
They forfeited about SGD$400 even when I canceled within 48 hours.

We stayed there for 7D6N and they CAME INTO our room every single day!
That is so fucked up even when we hang the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door.

They will knocked and wait for you to let them in before knocking again. Which part of DO NOT DISTURB do they not understand? -.-

Anyway it is a blessing in disguise as Good9stay is even nearer to the XiMen MRT station. (Exit 6)

Another short cut is cutting through the 7-11 beside Watsons.
Took us less then 2 mins to go to the MRT station daily.

5F No.10 , 27 Lane Cheng-Tu Road Ximending Taipei Taiwan
臺北市成都路27巷10號五樓(電梯)Tel:  02-2314-0245

They can converse in English as well via email.

Good9stay is at level 5 of a building.
The security is good, you need to tap the electronic against the lift door to open it.
There is also double lock for the room.

We stayed in Standard Double Bed Big Room - NT1700 per night (SGD72.60)
Stayed there for 8 nights.(NT100 discount per night for stay more than a week)
You are required to pay a 20% deposit via paypal.

One thing I really love about this place is the room service part.
You can hang the "Do not disturb" sign outside and they will not come into your room.

Unlike some minsu they will come into your room to do housekeeping daily.
I really hate that because I will have to lock my stuffs up before going out.

So for the 9D8N we just left our clothes and stuffs lying around the room.

Here are some pictures of the room.
The room is very spacious. But the water heater sucks.

The water is only hot for less than 10mins.
Which means by the time I finished shampooing my hair, I do not have any hot water to bath.
#Firstworldproblem

The distance between the bed and TV is perfect.
But there are a lot of rooms at the same level.
And it gets very noisy at night.

Some nights I couldn't sleep well because of people talking loudly and slamming the door.
Maybe it's just me, as I am a light sleeper.

Check in timing is after 2pm, but if they have empty room they will let you have it earlier.
Check out timing is before 12am.

Service : 3.5/5 (Encounter one rude staff but 2 very helpful staffs)
Price : 3.5/5
Location : 5/5
Room : 3.5/5

Overall it is an average place to stay in.
It is consider cheap as the place is located just next to the XiMen MRT station.

Doris Home - 朵麗絲的家民宿

This is by far the best minsu we had ever stayed in!

The owner's son, Greg also known as 小游 is well versed in English.
He can communicate in English via email which makes the booking very smooth and simple.

The website is in both English and Chinese. (Yay!)

He has given us very clear instruction and we followed them and reached Doris Home in no time.

There are 2 entrances to Doris Home.
One of the entrance is located at the main road, next to the famous Sun Moon Lake Restaurant.
The other entrance is through the pharmacy owned by them.

Usually Greg will be at the pharmacy at level 3.

They owned the whole building and every door is key locked.

There is a common area at level 1, where you can get coffee and tea.
They will very kindly provide you with a plate of fruits in the afternoon.

The amount of cat items here are too damn high!
It's soooooo cute.

They have 2 bicycles. They lend the bikes to their guest for free!

As they only have 3 rooms located at level 2, Garfield, Kitty and Doris, the minsu is often booked during peak period.
We are so lucky to have the whole minsu to ourselves during the stay!

The cute entrance to our room!

We stayed in Doris Room - NT2800 per night (SGD119.66) Weekday price.
Stayed there for 1 night. Free breakfast is provided.
You are required to pay a 50% deposit via paypal.

*You can get cheaper ferry tickets from them! (NT100 instead of NT300)

Here are some pictures of the room.
The room is very spacious, with a big balcony which P and  I only went out to take photos.
Do note that Doris Room is the only one with balcony and is the biggest.

Everything there is too cute!

We so loved the bathroom and bed!
The bathroom shower is of a 4 stars hotel and so is the bed!

P loved the bed so much and he refused to wake up the next morning.
Needless to say, we slept very well!

Check in timing is after 1pm, Greg is very kind to let us checked in earlier!
Check out timing is before 11am.

Service : 5/5
Price : 3.5/5
Location : 4/5
Room : 5/5

Overall it is an awesome place to stay in.
It is a bit expensive for minsu but with the service and room, I can say the stay is worth every single cent. Greg is an awesome host and we are glad we chose this minsu!

They also served very nice breakfast. :)
